Graphic Design
These projects helped me learn how to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
‘Stranger Things’ Magazine Spread
This was created for my introduction to computer graphics class. This spread is about the season finale of the third season of Netflix’s hit sci-fi show, Stranger Things. I designed the illustration of Eleven, who is one of the main characters. Since the show is set in the 1980s, I wanted to make the colors in my illustration vibrant while also emphasizing black and red tones more, as they are the two primary colors that represent the show as a whole. I included a photo of the monster in the show, the Demogorgon, with clouds and lightening behind the headline to represent the scary, mysterious vibe of the show. I decreased the brightness of the original photo so that the red font would catch the reader’s eye, and to symbolize that the monster is always lurking in the shadows throughout the show. I created a drop-shadow effect for the quotes and the title to symbolize the eerie tone of Stranger Things.
Single Word Transformation
This project was made for my foundations of graphic design class. The objective was to select a word of our choosing and create graphics that correlated with the word to be woven inside of the letters. I chose the word “garden” because I have a deep appreciation for nature. Each illustration was created either by hand or through design work in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
